I decided to do some digging and I’ve got some surprising answers for you, my fellow hamster<\/a> enthusiasts.<\/p>\n So, I’ve had my fair share of hamster experience. I’ve raised, bred, and loved many of these little critters over the years. But, nothing compares to the experience I had with my first hamster, Jerry. Yes, I named him after the one and only, Jerry Seinfeld.<\/p>\n Anyways, Jerry was a Syrian hamster<\/a> and I got him when he was just a baby. I remember being so excited to bring him home and start our journey together. I had all sorts of plans for him, like building him a giant hamster<\/a> wheel and creating a little hamster city for him to explore.<\/p>\n But, little did I know that Jerry had plans of his own. He was a sneaky little guy and always found ways to escape from his cage.<\/p>\n I remember coming home from work one day and finding him sitting on my kitchen counter, munching on a piece of cheese that he had somehow managed to steal from the fridge. It was hilarious and I couldn’t help but laugh.<\/p>\n But, the real shocker came when I took Jerry to the vet for his check-up. The vet told me that Jerry was actually 7 years old<\/a>. I couldn’t believe it.<\/p>\n I had had him for 5 years and I had no idea that he was that old<\/a>. I had always thought that hamsters only lived for 2-3 years<\/a>.
