Hey y’all, it’s your boy Matt here, and I’ve got a little problem on my hands. My hamster, Mr. Snuffles, has a thing for biting his water bottle.

Like, he won’t stop. It’s getting pretty annoying, and I’m starting to worry about him. I mean, is this normal hamster behavior? Is he trying to tell me something? Or is he just being a little punk? I decided to do some research and figure out what’s going on with my little buddy.

So I’m sitting on my couch, scrolling through Instagram and munching on a bag of chips (don’t judge me), when I hear this loud *crunch* from the direction of Mr. Snuffles’ cage.

I’m like, “Dude, seriously?” I look over and see that he’s chomping away on his water bottle like it’s a snack. I’m like, “Hey man, save some for the rest of us.” But he just keeps going. I’m starting to get a little worried, like maybe he’s not getting enough water or something. I mean, he’s a hamster, not a camel.

So I decide to do a little digging and see if this is a normal thing for hamsters to do. And let me tell you, the internet is a weird place. I come across all sorts of theories, from “your hamster is trying to tell you something” to “your hamster is just being a little brat.”

I’m like, “Okay, this isn’t really helping me out here.” But then I come across an article that actually seems to make sense. And it turns out, my little buddy Mr. Snuffles might just be a little bit of a genius.
