Hey there, my name is Matt and I’ve had my fair share of experiences with hamsters. I remember one time, I had a female hamster named Daisy and a male hamster named Rocky.

I was convinced that they were the perfect match and would make the cutest little hamster babies. So, I put them in the same cage and waited for the magic to happen.

Well, let me tell you, things did not go as planned. Daisy ended up attacking Rocky and biting his ear off. I was in shock, and didn’t know what to do.

I quickly separated them and took Rocky to the vet, but unfortunately his ear was beyond repair.

From that day on, I learned that just because two hamsters are of opposite sexes, it doesn’t mean they’re going to like each other.

And it also made me wonder, can hamsters even mate with their own offspring?

The answer is yes, hamsters can and will mate with their offspring if given the opportunity.
